First contacts

"I'm sorry sir. I- wasn't trying to trespass. I--" She tries to explain. Somehow Rex didn't believe a word she said, he suspects this nurse isn't innocent as she looks.
"I asked you a question didn't I?"
"Yes-"
"Then do yourself a favor and answer me. What are you doing here? You aren't the nurse posted down here aren't you?." He confronts, making his appearance more intimidating.
"I wanted to- I was on my way towards ward fifteen when I accidentally stumbled here. I am so sorry, I won't make the same mistake again." She pleaded.
"No you won't, what is your name?" Rex requested.
"Please sir don't report me to my superior I am new here." She begged.
"Just answer the question."
"Please sir... have mercy." She begged.
"For the last time, what is your name?" Rex growled low under his breath, his patience running out.
"Tiffany." She answered softly.
"You may leave." He moved away from the door so she can leave but she started to plead instead.
"Please sir I beg of you-"
"Are you deaf or stupid, I said leave! Now!" He rose his voice making her squirm and dash outside. "Tiffany!" He called when she was almost at the second door.
"Sir?" She trembled.
"For your own sake, let everything that happened here end here, no word should go out. Understand."
"Yes sir." She reluctantly agrees.
"Good you are dismissed." He let her leave without risking having the poor thing faint from her misery. Now the threat has been resolved, Rex and Cherry are once again left alone to pick up where they got left before getting interrupted. Just as he wanted to touch her hand the door opened again, much to his irritation. Rex internally groaned, also making random threats in unknown languages against the second intruder. With no choice, Rex had to keep his distance from Cherry until he can get rid of the stranger.
Jerry was the intruder that entered, he held in his hands a thin tray containing medicines for Cherry and the first food she should take when she awakes. He then went to drop them on the desk beside her bed when he noticed Rex's angry gaze. Before he was able to administer the injection Cherry moved from her position then her eyes flutter open like butterflies
"Where am I?" She asked them.
"You are back at the hospital." Jerry replied.
"No, I mean what room am I? I can't see it clearly." She croaked out.
"You are in our private ward, you don't want to know the name of the ward." Jerry joked looking behind him, Rex raised a questionable eyebrow at him. "Sorry, sir it was just a harmless joke."
"I want to resume work, please. I want to get back before he comes." She told him. Cherry knew Rex was around but she pretended not to notice. How can it be possible to concentrate when his cologne followed her like a shadow.
"Cherry, listen, I understand you want to go but your body needs more rest than you think, it needs to recover from the shock and injuries you went through." Jerry explain.
"I don't care! I don't want to be babied anymore. I have plans and goals, I can't make them happen on a hospital bed. I want to work to achieve them." She insists and tries to get up only to get hit by a sharp pain at the back of her head. "Ow!"
"Easy Cherry, your injuries are still tender." Jerry tries to keep her from moving which turns out to be a task.
"And how do you plan on doing that if you are unhealthy?" Rex grunts out rudely stopping Cherry's struggles.
Damn the egoistic billionaire and his methods of making people feel sad about themselves. Rex always and still looks for ways to trap Cherry with her own words so she'd look like a fool.
"It's none of your darn business Mr Angelo." She retorts unintentionally but tries making them sound polite. Rex felt insulted and disrespected. It is unnatural for him to retort back so he held his tongue for later. Starting an argument with her, here in front of Jerry will only expose the unexpected. "Jerry, can I have my glasses I am sure they are ready?" She demanded.
"Err... they might-" Jerry snapped out of his mute state trying to catch up with the conversation. "The glasses--" He looked at Rex unsure if should go ahead. In reply, Rex mouthed 'NO!' to decline. "I can--" Jerry tries to tell Rex but he isn't having it.
'DON'T ANSWER!' Rex mouths to the doctor.
'STOP IT SIR, THIS IS NOT RIGHT' Jerry mouths back his frustration.
'JUST DON'T ANSWER, LEAVE IT TO ME' Rex mouths again.
'I THINK YOU HAVE DONE YOUR PART' Jerry replies.
Rex and Jerry kept on syncing words at each other forgetting the injured girl waiting for some contact and answers. She waited for Jerry's answer but got a silent treatment instead.
"Huh... Jerry? Doc? Are you guys still there?" Cherry called.
"Yes, I am here Cherry. I will go get Kyle. He has your glasses." Jerry answered her with raised eyebrows directed at Rex.
"Don't you dare Jerry." Rex mumbles very low.
"Sorry sir, I can't do what you want because she needs them now." Jerry confessed and went to get Kyle. A few minutes later Jerry was back with Kyle looking handsome as always.
"Hi Cherry, so great to see you, soon." Kyle greeted unsure as to why she was back at the hospital.
"Hi Kyle, do you have my glasses?" Cherry eagerly asks.
"Of course, how could I forget. It's just that, I wasn't expecting you to be back here. At the hospital. What happened?" Kyle gave Rex a confused look.
"Just give the girl the damn glasses." Rex spat.
"Okay, Mr Angelo. Still all a surprise to me." Kyle mumbled under his breath.
"I wasn't prepared to be back, we can only blame the culprit for this. Maybe later he will get what he deserves, but I need to see what's around me. I desperately want my sight restored." She eagerly stretches her hands out to receive her new glasses so she can get the hell out of Rex's company before he makes her a liability. Cherry never fancied glasses it all made her look like a nerd but what choice does she have now.
"Hold on porcupine."Kyle says which confused her.
"Porcupine?" Cherry frowned at his choice of words.
"Don't be mad, it's just a nickname I got for you because you are sharp and difficult sometimes, and you can be adorable as the colors of a porcupine, that's why I called you a porcupine, and don't forget you are adorable." Kyle finishes, leaving Cherry mushy like bananas, her cheeks flushed pink in embarrassment and appreciation for his kind words. Kyle used lovely words to get her mind off killing Rex, it also made her feel appreciated once in her life.
"Enough with the flirting and give her the damn glasses!" Rex snapped harshly at them. Jerry felt the hardness in his tone except for Kyle who doesn't get upset easily. Because the doctors are becoming fond of Cherry, Rex made a decision to always keep Cherry away from Kyle and Jerry except when they are needed.
Jerry and Kyle switched topics often to avoid Rex from lashing out or firing them. According to the hospital's halls of fame, Jerry and now Kyle poised confidence in talking back at Rex, it earned them a staff-made badge honored by the hospital staff. "Well I picked out two types of lenses you should use. The reason for this is- you might like just one, so I want it to be your decision. Trust me when I say these lenses are cute."
"Okay?" Cherry still answered even when nothing was clear to her understanding.
"I want you to try the glasses." Kyle helped Cherry wear the glasses because she is new to them. "So what do you think?" He stood back for a reaction.
Cherry closed her eyes for a few seconds scared of what she might look like. Most especially she was worried about what Rex thought.
"Come on, don't be shy, open your eyes slowly." Kyle encouraged her.
Cherry took in a nervous breath and open her eyes slowly, the brightness of the room nearly blinding her permanently. That was at first but now the room was in focus and everything is in proper detail.
"I can see much clearer, thanks." She passed a grateful smile at Kyle which he returned.
"Not yet, I still have the second choice you are yet to try out. Contact lenses. I know you aren't aware of this lens but I promise this is much better and recommended mostly to girls of your age. Contacts are easy to wear, take off and replace. Trust me you will like it also." Kyle spoke confidently as if he was the spokesman of the product.
"But I have never worn eye contact before, what if I poke my eyes accidentally?" Cherry voiced her concerns which made Jerry, Kyle, and Rex chuckle ridiculously.
"No. You can't love." Kyle says but got nudged on the side by Jerry who reminds him of Rex with a jerk of his head. "Let me help you put them on. There are various ways to wear the contact lenses, but I will show you a simple way."
"Okay." She agrees and took off the cute glass.
"Follow the steps I am going to show you now." Cherry carefully followed Kyle, only managing to see his movements as a guide. At first, she felt nervous and scared but got a hang of it later on.
"What do you think." Kyle asked Rex this time. He knew when to ask the right questions. Rex looked deep into Cherry's eyes, almost getting lost in them.
"Beautiful." He spoke, sounding breathless.
