Two weeks passed. As what was planned in my mind, I keep myself closer to Jake. I followed him everywhere he go without protest. He didn't seem to noticed that I am also playing with him all this time. When he told me that we're leaving our country, I immediately obeyed him. Even with the doubts I have inside, I still follow his orders. I already expected it to happen though. I am inside my room, preparing for our flight. I'm just wearing a simple blouse and jeans with sneakers. I braided my medium-length hair. As I saw myself in the mirror, I can determine that I've lost weight. My cheeks got more defined and my arms were skinny. I always eat on time but not the same appetite I had before. I just feel like I don't have any interest whenever I dine with Jake. I treat him coldly that he can't even get near me. I saw the door of my room opened. A man on his suit entered and his manly scent lingered as he walked his way towards me. I saw him smile a little as he stared me from the mirror. “You look beautiful, baby,” Jake muttered before he kissed my forehead. He's sweet and caring, but it doesn't have any effect on me. I already knew what he has behind his sleeves. He's just acting like this as if we're a normal couple. “Let's go,” I uttered and stood up without glancing at him. I heard him sighed deeply before he followed me. He hold my hand and we both went to the rooftop. I gasped when a helicopter was what threshold in front of me. It make my hair messy. A guy guided me to get inside and Jake followed me. He give me a smile. We've landed safely and arrived on his mansion. I don't have an idea where we are. All I know is that, it's far from civilization. I saw long green grasses surrounding us. Despite of that, it looks peaceful here. Maids welcomed us with their sweet smile but my eyes darted on the woman with gray eyes. My lips parted when I recognized her. Liene... She was one of my classmates on College. She seemed to recognize me to as she timidly smiled at me. I roamed my eyes to the whole mansion. The first thing that caught my attention was the chandelier on the top center of the ceiling. The interior is quite traditional in design. The mansion has a long stairs up to the second floor. There are multiple rooms here. The living room, the dining room and even the kitchen were cleaned neatly. The windows are huge too. “I'm gonna leave you here for now, Rielle.” I heard Jake said when we're already in my room. I just nodded and looked at him. He sighed and leaned forward to kiss my cheeks. I didn't even flinched. As soom as he left, I expaled a loud breath. I know he was just showing me his sweet side. For the last two weeks, he's been like this to me. He never threatened me nor remind me about The Falcons. He was never the abusive type of guy. He always make me feel comfortable and he always follows what I requested him. He's like a puppy who's very obedient to his owner. I sighed as I remembered him being like this too. When we're still in College, he's the type of guy who will always make me feel that I am worth it. He's very responsible too. I maybe felt comfortable being with him because of that, but I didn't love him as much as I love Elijah. I went to my bed and removed my sneakers. I was interrupted when a maid knocked and checked on me. She has a short hair though she's not my classmate. She looks younger than me too. She smiled at me before she entered with a tray of food. “Ma'am, Sir Jake told us to prepare food for you,” she softly uttered and put the tray on the bedside table. I muttered a 'Thank you' to her. I stared at her as I pursed my lips. I wanted to asked something to her but she may not have the answer. “Ma'am?” “Huh?” I flinched. She was curiously looking at me. “What is it?” I keep a smile on my face. “Are you okay, ma'am?” I nodded. “Of course.” “I'm Lorecia, ma'am.” She put her hands on the pockets of her uniform. “I want to tell you something ma'am. If that's okay.” “What?” “You were the second guest we have here,” she said. “The first one was his wife, Ms. Carmienne.” I keep my head up eventhough I was slightly surprised. Carmienne knew this place too? And everyone knows that she's married to Jake. “Did she came with a baby?” I asked. “Ah, no ma'am. She's with Sir Jake when they got here. They spent for like four days here.” she uttered. I nodded. So... It was quite a long time since Carmienne got here. She's not yet pregnant by that time, I guess. “They always argue about a 'certain woman', ma'am. Ms. Carmienne always stays calm when Sir Jake will shout at her. But when she's alone, we always hear her cries on her room.” “She...” I expaled a sigh as I can't continue what I want to say. I felt bad for Carmienne. She doesn't deserve to be treated like this. “If you want to ask something ma'am, Liene knows it. She's been here for three years.” “Liene?” I asked. Lorecia nodded. “The maid with gray eyes ma'am.” She smiled at me. “Okay. Thank you, Lorecia.” After our talk, Lorecia left my room. I ate what she brought me. It feels uncomfortable knowing that Carmienne was here. She was not treated nicely. Jake was harsh to her. Just by remembering it, I gritted my teeth. I wanted to hurt Jake so bad for hurting a very precious woman. I decided to go to the kitchen to look for Liene. I saw her immediately as I recognized her physique. She has a long black hair and she's very petite person. The last time I saw her was three years ago. So... She chose to stopped studying and just work here. “Liene.” I called her attention. She glanced back at me and she plastered me a warm smile. “Long time no see, Rielle.” “How are you?” I asked. I wanted to hug her but she refused to do so. “Completely fine,” she uttered. “You should worry about yourself more.” Her voice went serious. My eyes widened. “You know?” She nodded. “Carmienne told me.” Her eyes showed worries while looking at me. So... Carmienne also has an idea to Jake's plan. Carmienne is her friend since College. They're closed friends. “She'll come here tomorrow.”
“W-what? No! It's dangerous.” I panicked but she just shook her head. “She's more safe here.” “What do you mean?” “She's the owner of this mansion. Jake give it to her,” she uttered. “You should at least be ready about what will happen if she's here.” “Will she help me?” I asked. “I don't know for now. She maybe planning something.” She sighed. “You knew that she's not really married, right?” She looked at me but I saw pity on her eyes. She nodded. “Carmienne isn't the type of woman who will defend herself. But she doesn't deserve this. She just loved the wrong man.” “I want to help her escape from Jake's plan,” I softly uttered and hold her hands. “Help me.” She stared at me. “What will I do?” “Call someone. His name is Denver.” I put a paper with Denver's number on her hand and nodded at her. “Told him our address. He'll do something with his friends.” “Is he your boyfriend?” she asked as she pocketed the paper. I shook my head. “My boyfriend's injured. He's name is E-elijah.” I felt a lump on my throat as I mentioned his name. She nodded and smiled at me. But her eyes glanced at my neck, particularly on my bracelet. “You have a tracking device.” she uttered. I looked at my necklace then back to her. “You know about this thing?” I curiously asked. “Kian told me.” She hold my necklace. “Go back to your room, Rielle. Jake might see—”
“See what?” A cold voice thundered inside the kitchen making me and Liene flinched. Her eyes widened as he stared at my back. I followed her gaze and Kian was there. He crossed his arms as he walks towards us. I felt relieved as he nodded at me. He give a one glance to Liene who looked pale as white now. “Follow me, Ms. Rivera.” Kian uttered before he went out to the other door. I smiled at Liene before I curiously follow Kian. I saw him standing near a big fountain. Our view is the green trees and long grasses surrounding us. “You seem to know 'our' plan.” I heard his voice as soon as I stood next to him. He must be pertaining to Ferrer twins' plans. “Dash told me everything before this happened. As expected, you're a good actress.” “Am I?” I asked. I saw a smirk curved on his lips. “Continue wearing that 'mask', Ms. Rivera.” He glanced at me. “The final move is coming.”
